North Lakes is a very descriptive name for this suburb – it is 25 kilometres north of Brisbane and is dominated by a series of tranquil lakes. But this new satellite city is much more than its simple name suggests

  • Education options. The suburb has numerous state & private primary to senior schools & colleges including North Lakes State College, The Lakes College, Bounty Boulevard. With the new University of the Sunshine Coast campus opening in February 2020.  Quality education is close at hand.

North Lakes’s location and housing stock attract residents of all ages, though 2016 Census data shows that it’s particularly popular for established families. Maybe because they moved here when the family was young and just never wanted to leave. In fact families represent over 60% of the population.

Over 38% of residents rent in North Lakes, but those who own their homes are more likely to have a mortgage than they are to own it outright.

Migrants have been attracted to North Lakes with the suburb having the largest South African population in Queensland. With British and New Zealand expats well represented as well.
